Latest News from the Burgiss Barn
Winter 2005-2006
The Burgiss Barn has closed for the winter, but we are busily preparing
for next year. We are very seriously considering obtaining the proper
permits and licenses to sell and/or serve beer and wine. The Barn
is currently accepting reservations for private
parties for the 2006 season. Call Tom or Jimmy at 800-233-1505
to book your party now. We will not be organizing or hosting any
barn dances next year.
Summer 2005
The Barn continues to host Saturday night dances, at a clip of 2
to 3 dances per month.
Spring 2004
After a short season of barn dances in 2003, the Burgiss Barn is
cranking up the fiddles, banjos, and mandolins again for 2004. We
plan on hosting at least 2 dances per month during the May-October
season..
And speaking of schedules... Availabilities for
private parties are closing out fast. Call 800-233-1505 to reserve
your date now. We have already booked several weddings, receptions,
reunions, and other private parties for the summer.
Summer 2002
The Burgiss Barn, which has featured live bluegrass and old time
music on weekends for the past 10 years, has suspended its traditional
Saturday night dances.
We'd like to thank all of you who have attended and
supported our dances over the years, and hope you enjoyed our unique
brand of good, clean mountain fun.
The weekly Saturday night dances may have come to
an end, but the Burgiss Barn is far from closed. As you can see,
our facility is available to host your
special event, complete with catering services - and we even offer
a great Sunday lunch buffet! Just click

Spring 2002
We've been busy as beavers over the winter months,
improving and remodeling the Burgiss Barn. Don Brown and his band
of merry men have been working hard to get ready in time for our
opening date on April 27, 2002.
Here are some of the highlights you can look forward
to during the 2002 season:
- New sound system (more powerful speakers)
- Improved ventilation on the dance floor
- Air conditioning in the dining room
- New thermopane windows
- New barn roof and soffets
- Repainted siding
- Remodeled stage
We've got a new logo... and this means a whole new
line of Burgiss Barn apparel for 2002. Hats, sweatshirts, T-shirts,
overalls... you name it!
